On the 10th of May´2017 the ESA Aviators could arrange an ‘AfterWorkFlight’ flight with 3 planes and 7 lucky aviators to destination ‘Rothenburg ob der Tauber’.
The historical city ‘Rothenburg ob der Tauber’ is located around 35 miles in the east of Nuernberg with airfield EDFR with an asphalt runway of 950 meters.As strong deviation to the weather conditions in the weeks before, the weather was nearly perfect for flying… and also to sit outside and enjoy the gastronomic specialties of TRATTORIA VOLARE, direct at the airfield. With friendly support from the tower, the opening time of the airfield could have been extended to start at 20:00 local, flying back to the home bases of the airplanes in Frankfurt- Egelsbach and Reinheim.
